Availability
I tend to be in high demand as a flight instructor and my schedule has
been known to fill up as much as a week in advance, so it behooves you
to schedule me and an aircraft as soon as you know your schedule! I
try to schedule lessons within the following three time slots Monday
through Friday and on alternating weekends:
8:00 AM TO 11:00 AM
11:00 AM TO 2:00 PM
2:00 PM TO 5:00 PM
I do instruct at night as necessary, and occasionally on holidays. I
take alternating weekends off and am usually found trying to catch up
on paying bills, household chores, food shopping, etc... you know,
the glamorous life of a professional pilot!
Instruction rates, billing and flight cancellations
Flight instruction is my full time and chosen profession. As such, I
work diligently to provide professional and comprehensive instruction
tuned to your specific needs. I charge $50.00 per hour for flight and
ground instruction.
I charge for all the time I am giving instruction, in the air and on
the ground. As a student, you will have the option of paying as you go
via cash or check at the end of each week, or by credit card at the
end of each lesson. I do not charge block to block time. I do not
charge for canceled lessons due to bad weather, student illness, or
aircraft maintenance issues.
If you do need to cancel a lesson, please notify me with at least 24
hours notice via email. If you need to cancel with less than 24 hours
notice, especially on the day of the flight, please call me on my
mobile phone at (415) 290-3954, as I will not receive an email at
work.
Online schedulers
I maintain my schedule via Sundance and West Valley online schedulers.
My schedules are updated on a daily basis, however, if you schedule a
lesson for the same day, there is a possibility that I will already be
at the airport. In that case, please call me on my mobile phone at
(415) 290-3954, as I will not receive an email at work.
